Dry vacuum pumps

Dry vacuum pumps don’t need any lubricants to operate, which makes them ideal for clean processes like semiconductor or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Since there is no need to dispose of contaminated oil or other lubricants, these pumps are usually low maintenance.

Chemical dry pumps

Chemical dry pumps compress and transport gas using oil-free rotating elements – typically screws, claws, or scrolls. They are well-suited for industries such as chemical, pharmaceutical, and petrochemical. Diaphragm pumps

Scroll pumps

Multistage Roots pumps

Mechanical booster pumps

Mechanical booster vacuum pumps – also known as Roots pumps – are called “boosters” because they are typically used in conjunction with a backing pump, which maintains the exhaust pressure and allows the booster to operate effectively.

Edwards booster pumps are highly reliable even in harsh environments, offering impressive performance, reduced capital costs, and easy maintenance.

Wet vacuum pumps

In wet vacuum pumps, the process gas comes into contact with a working fluid, such as oil, water, or another liquid. The fluid is typically used for sealing, lubrication, compression, or cooling. Wet vacuum pumps are used widely across industries in, for instance, metallurgy, packaging, and drying.

Oil-injected screw pumps

Oil-injected screw pumps use two intermeshing screw-shaped rotors to compress gas. These pumps offer high pumping speeds at low pressures, which makes them suitable for continuous-duty processes like drying and packaging. Edwards’ oil-injected screw pumps provide you flexibility, ease of use, and optimised energy efficiency.

Oil rotary vane pumps

Edwards Vacuum manufactures both single- and two-stage oil rotary vane pumps. They use rotating vanes that trap gas in chambers between them. These chambers shrink as they rotate, compressing the gas and pushing it out through an exhaust valve.

Edwards’ different oil rotary vane pumps offer many benefits from compact design, low maintenance, low lifecycle cost, and low noise levels to reliable performance.

Liquid ring pumps

Liquid ring vacuum pumps use a sealing liquid (usually water) to form a moving ring inside the pump chamber, creating compression and suction as the impeller rotates.

Edwards’ liquid ring vacuum pumps include both single and double stage machines – with pump capacities going up to 40,000 m3/h in one stage and to 7,500 m3/h in two stage models. Some of the benefits of these pumps include continuous operation at any pressure, few moving parts, and no internal lubrication.

Diffusion pumps

A diffusion pump is a high-vacuum pump that uses a jet of vaporized fluid (usually oil) to transfer momentum to gas molecules, driving them out of the vacuum chamber and down to a backing pump.

Edwards’ large industrial diffusion pumps are well suited for metallurgy, distillation, and coating applications, whereas the smaller pumps are good for laboratory and research use.

Rotary piston pumps

Oil-sealed rotary piston pumps use a reciprocating piston rotating inside a cylinder to compress and expel gas. Edwards’ rotary piston pump is suitable for many harsh industrial applications, such as PET processing, metallurgy, and heat treatment.
